We spent two weeks at the wonderful Bougainvilla House. Sidónio is a very friendly and excellent host who is always helpful whenever you need an advice or assistance. He made the stay at Madeira for us to be a perfect vacation. The house is spaceous, nicely furnished and leaves nothing to be desired regarding the equipment. Our favorite place was the beautiful terrace with its amazing view over the city of Funchal. Funchal city center is accessible in a few minutes by car or by bus, and even by foot if you don't mind steep paths. All in all, a great place to stay and a clear thumbs up.
