The cabin is equipped with everything one might need for a medium-term stay. Basic kitchen utensils, refrigerator, instant hot and cold water, toiletries, bed linen, and an air-conditioner with both heating and cooling settings. Then there is the neighbourhood cat Frida who befriended me in a heartbeat and made my stay at this beautiful cabin so much more memorable. The cabin is surrounded by a beautiful garden where I spent mornings and afternoons in peace and solitude. The woods are right behind, and they are gorgeous any time of day. I also saw so many different kinds of mushrooms growing everywhere and foraging is quite common. The beach is a 5-minute walk away and is another spot for quiet reflection. All of which is to say, it is a great place for those seeking respite from urban frenzy. During my stay, there were no lights on anywhere in the surroundings so the night sky was just brilliantly lit with stars. The cabin has floor to ceiling glass windows so even rainy days were a delight to just stay in and look outside. Ramona and Kaspars are extremely warm and responsive hosts who ensured all my requirements - a lot of which stemmed from the longer nature of my stay - were met and my stay was as comfortable as possible.

The location is a bit tricky if you do not arrive with a car, so that might be something you want to bear in mind. Even the nearest grocery store is 3 km and there is no feasible public transport - so having some form of transportation (even a bicycle) could be advantageous. Given the location of the cabin in the woods, there are a lot of mosquitoes - but nothing a mosquito repellent lotion and vapouriser cannot handle.

Eine sehr ruhige Lage , nicht weit ( zirka 10 Minuten zu Fuß ) vom wunderbarem Strand . Sehr nette und Hilfsbereiche Gastgeber . Einfache aber sehr gemütliche Einrichtung mit Terrasse und Grillplatz . Habe mich sehr wohl gefüllt und werde gerne wieder kommen . Dankeschön an die Gastgeber für die wunderbare Tage .

I missed a place to hang a towel in bathroom / hangers were slippery (minor)

The cottage house is cute and clean and has almost everything to be perfect accomodation, but I think the owners don’t understand their guests’ needs. Maybe they are very young?.. It is surprisingly spacious, absolutely enough for 2 guests, the terrace is spectacular and invites to rest. The bottle of wine as a welcome gift was a thoughtful gesture. Bathroom is really big, kitchen rather basic but we didn’t need it - we ate delicious breakfasts in Egure (Kukul ceptuve).

1. The sofa bed is a real disaster - it’s not designed for regular sleeping, maybe to spend one night after a whole-night party at your friends. One smaller part of it is pretty firm/tough, the other (much wider) is extremely soft and collapsed in some spots. It’s just impossible for 2 adults to have a comfortable sleep. Moreover it’s quite dirty and worn-out. It’s a shame to offer such piece of furniture to the guests - I suppose the owners never spent even a single night on it. 2. No mosquito nets in the windows. 3. AC quite often starts to vibrate so noisily that wakes you up, probably because of wrong installation. To conclude - I escaped a hot, noisy city and came to Latvia in order to avoid using air-conditioning all the time and hoped to breathe fresh air, smell the forest and the sea, sleep by open window but…. ended up closed tightly in the box, forced to use loud AC or let the mosquitos eat me alive. Sorry to say that, but I was really happy to leave.
