We absolutely loved our stay at Alpine Retreat Apartments Šurc! The location is slightly outside the village, making it wonderfully peaceful and quiet. It’s definitely a place where you can truly relax and unwind. The room was spotlessly clean, and the whole place had such a cozy alpine cottage feel. Check-in was super easy, and it was clear that the owner had thought of every little detail to make our stay special. The small bottle of champagne waiting for us was such a lovely touch! We would definitely stay here again if we visit this beautiful part of Slovenia. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful and cozy getaway!

This was easily one of the best vacation rentals we have ever stayed in !! On the first day a regional water outage stopped us showering and using the hot tub but the hosts got us 100L of water for washing/toilet etc and 12L of drinking water before we arrived. They apologised profusely despite it not being in their control at all and it was fixed within 24hrs by the water board. Amazing communication via WhatsApp to keep us informed throughout. The owners then let us use the E Bikes at the property to make up for the water problems, a €70 gesture that we were very grateful of because of the stunning location in the woods, near to the towns of Ratece and Kranska Gora, both well worth cycling to and enjoying the amazing Slovenian countryside. Beautiful !!! As for the property, it is incredible!!! Tucked away in Ratece, walking distance to a few guesthouse/bar/restaurants it has it all ! The property is immaculate, with a few units sharing one large purpose built chalet, split in to 3 or 4 units. All have parking, a hot tub, balcony area and the views and outside location are simply magical ! The wood fired hot tubs share a log store and E bike storage is also in the driveway area and the property is totally private. The units are very well appointed with high end appliances, and lovely bathrooms, huge sofas , a log burner and a massive TV with proper apps and WiFi connection so you can watch your home TV/ Stream etc. We stayed in late summer and it rained but the one day of sun we had we made the most of on the bikes and visiting the Vrsic pass (amazing!) and the Blue Gorge, the area is so amazing, you can even walk from the house to Italy if you wanted to! You are also next to one of the cheapest fuel stations in Europe ! We loved every minute of being there and will book again !

The water being off, but it wasn't their fault and they responded very well.

Beautiful lodge in a quiet location. A short walk from the village, and close to several walking and cycling routes. It's about 200m from the Italian border so we cycled to the fusine lakes in Italy (def worth visiting) and also went to the Austrian border. Very cycling friendly with a long cycle path close by, so definitely worth hiring the bikes. The lodge was well equipped and the hot tub was great. It felt private even though there are 3 lodges on site as they all face different ways

We couldn't find a tea towel and no draining board so was a little tricky for clearing up. There was a small dishwasher but we washed a few bigger items by hand.
