Horrible experience, please avoid!!
After an unexpectedly complicated, almost 1-hour-long check-in process (due to wrong key locker code provided, broken/missing fob to open the door to the staircase, incomplete instructions) I finally arrived in the apartment. Initially, from a distance it looked okay, the bed was made, there were a couple of personal items (slippers, toothpaste, shower gels) left here and there which was weird. But then looking closer, the details of dirt and complete lack of cleanness shocked me. To list the issues: long female hair and pubic hair everywhere, on the floors, in the bed, on the desk, make-up stains on the pillow case, dirty towels, dirty bathroom faucet, unemptied dustbin, a lot of personal items (coat, cleaning tools) just thrown under the bed, used bedsheets. It was impossible to stay and sleep in such conditions, so I had to find an alternative place to stay, already late at night.
The house itself didn't have the most welcoming atmosphere either: stairs covered due to construction, dark foyers, slightly damaged door lock, hard-to-remove key from the apartment door, I didn't feel entirely safe, even though the neighbourhood was the only positive thing about my overall horrible experience.
After the impressively detailed instructions, the positive reviews, and the initial kind messages from the host before check-in, I didn't expect such a shock. The host didn't answer my calls at the time of my struggles with the check in, but tried to help later in writing.
It was impossible to stay for the night in such unacceptable conditions, so I requested a full refund of the price. Initially it seemed that the owner agreed with my request (after I shared the details and photos with him) but now that a month has passed, I still haven't heard any updates about my claim. While the owner was pointing at booking.com as the reason for the delay, the customer service said that the owner didn't agree to pay the refund.
