The Guinness Arms

The Guinness Arms had character rooms and the hallway was just as nice. Our room had aircon and also a skylight which had retractable blinds if you wanted to look at the sky or not. Room was clean and cosy with coffee and tea facilities. A bottle of water was also supplied with a selection of biscuits. Iron and board in cupboard for those who want to sort the creases out. Hotel was quiet and calm just the way we like it, we stayed in the week so not sure what it would be like at the weekend. Staff were welcoming and really approachable. In fact they were helpful information about the area for a day out. We were there for the Thetford music festival in the forest and the staff were passing on tips to help us enjoy the event. Did not sit in the bar much as the weather was so nice so drank outside in the rear garden where there were lots of tables and benches to sit at. We enjoyed the food and had both breakfast and dinner in the dinning room area where you could see out to the lawned area. Plenty of free parking space. It as been a while since we have been over this way but we look forward to coming back again. Bury ST Edmonds is about 20 minutes away and is a really nice place, the Abbey grounds are absolutely lovely and worth a visit, a joy to behold. The room was just what we needed and the food menu was strong. Staff were are lovely. The outdoor space was fabulous too, especially for the kids
