Al Palazzo

It's an extraordinary privilege to stay in this wonderful ancient palace in the heart of Piazza Armerina - Raffaella and Claudio, who inherited this family home and have lovingly restored it, could not have been more welcoming and generous. They supervised parking (no easy thing in these narrow streets), shared excellent eating-and-drinking recommendations, and gave us super-abundant breakfasts. The rooms are comfortable, with all modern conveniences, and the atmosphere of the palace is soothing and timeless amidst the bustle of the town. It's the perfect base to see the glorious mosaics at the Villa Romana nearby - which should be at the top of anyone's list of things-to-see-in-Sicily. Just magic!

It’s a whole palace owned and run by a gracious Baroness and her husband. They couldn’t have been more helpful and warm. It includes a chapel and palatial ballroom and lounge. Rooms are very comfortable. Food is great. And the location is perfect. I can’t say enough about it. Wonderful!

Our wonderful hosts were incredibly kind and helpful. They carried our luggage up the staircases, since there is no elevator. They also drove us to two of the most important destinations which we wanted to visit in their area, and advised us how to take the bus for a day trip to Enna. We had booked a room with no breakfast, but they invited us to enjoy the generous buffet breakfast every morning. They also recommended some restaurants for us. Every day the hostess checked to make sure that we were well informed about our sightseeing options and answered any questions we might have. Our spacious and comfortable room was in a family owned palazzo, which was beautifully decorated, and we enjoyed seeing the historic reception rooms and private chapel. We liked staying in the historic part of the city.

It took a long time to get hot water in the bathroom sink, although the hot water in the shower worked OK.

Ein grossartiges Erlebnis in diesem Haus zu Gast zu sein. Raffaele und Claudio sind fantastische Gastgeber. Die überraschende Führung durch den Palast und das angebotene Frühstück haben uns besonders gefreut. Wir können das Haus sehr empfehlen.
