I stayed here for four nights. The location is excellent, close to Hyde Park and the Queensway Underground station, making it easy to get around London.
Unfortunately, my experience was let down by an issue with the room. On my first night, the air conditioning wasn’t working during the middle of a heat wave. I was told there were no other rooms available until the following day and was offered a complimentary buffet breakfast as compensation.
Personally, I didn’t feel that adequately made up for the situation. I had booked and paid for a room with air conditioning, but instead spent my first night in an uncomfortably hot room and only managed a few hours of restless sleep.
What disappointed me most was later learning that the hotel already knew the air conditioning in the room wasn’t working before assigning it to me, and this wasn’t disclosed at check-in. I also found out that other guests had been affected by the same issue. Had they been upfront about it, I would have appreciated the honesty and been able to make an informed decision.
