Staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was super clean and well maintained. Kept us nice and warm when it was cold out!
I also like the design made easy for snow or wet weather gear.
Only draw back was the mattress was particularly comfortable but otherwise amazing stay. Also sound proof rooms, didn’t hear a single person even though we had neighbours either side.

Clean, Practical and Convenient
We stayed one night at Alpine Glacier Motel during our South Island road trip. It’s a fairly basic, no-frills motel, but the accommodation was clean, comfortable and functional, with everything needed for a short stay. The central location is a real advantage, with restaurants and village amenities within easy walking distance. Nothing particularly fancy, but a perfectly good option for exploring Franz Josef and the surrounding region.
