Great location. Air con was OK. Property was a little "tired" but nothing too major. We would return.

Staff was responsive especially the lady running the breakfast in the morning.
Rooms need some deferred maintenance addressed but the room rate reflects that.
The location is really good.
Overall I'd book this joint again if I had to hit a budget in the Portman Square area.

This is a clean, comfortable boutique hotel perfectly placed in London. It is near Marble Arch, and you can get everywhere with public transportation. It is well worth including breakfast when you book. The breakfast bar had a great selection of foods, and the price was excellent; breakfast anywhere else in London would cost you way more. There is a pleasant sitting lounge on the ground floor. There are plenty of restaurants and pubs nearby, and if you are there for a while and need to do laundry, there are two laundromats close by.

We had a great stay at The Sumner. The breakfasts were good and convenient and the staff was very helpful, calling cabs when we needed them, carrying luggage, getting reservations for us for meals, etc. It's also in a convenient location in London.
