This is a wonderful place to stay. The hosts are very attentive. They offered me great recommendations of where to visit, shared about the history of Japan, explained how to use the public transit thoroughly, provided rides to the nearest train station, provided a delicious full breakfast—with home made marmalade, etc. The place feels like a historical gem, with a peaceful feeling to it.

Most generous hosts ever. More residential neighbourhood, so definitely quieter. Property is beautiful. Will return when possible!

The owners of Mokkoan are extremely kind and hospitable. We felt very welcomed and wished we had booked more time here. On top of that the rooms were very lovely. Highly recommend.

The surrounding area was quiet.
Japanese style room was clean and well-organized. bed is so comfortable and also american style breakfast is good.
Truly memorable experience was being able to enjoy a traditional Japanese garden view directly from my room.
