Luna Lodge

Beautiful boutique lodge at remote rainforest location. Delicious food and very friendly staff. Location at a hill allowed for beautiful views and birdwatching, with a pair of Scarlet Macaws breeding in a tree right on the property. Access for the last 2 miles after the airstrip requires SUV, but lodge also offers convenient airport pickup from Puerto Jimenez.

Luna Lodge is a simply remarkable place to be and not just explore, but join, the jungle. There’s a sense of beautiful surrender found there, beginning with the trek to the lodge itself. I don’t realize what a special place I had booked until we arrived. I had a 4x4 and loved the adventure of crossing (small) rivers and rocks as we traversed the path to Luna’s remote location. The property is a little paradise. It overlooks pure jungle with all the animals that can be spotted at Corcovado. The tours and guides are amazing - l loved how passionate and knowledgeable Mauro was about the wildlife, and it’s so nice to depart directly from the lodge. Our sleeping quarters was comfortable as well - we chose a tent which was a wonderful way to be in touch with nature. We were there in March, and the fan provided plenty of air. After a day exploring, it was nice to sleep under the stars in a natural setting. You can tell that Luna was built with a lot of love. Everything is thought out and beautiful, including the food. This was the best part of our trip and we cannot wait to return.

Luna Lodge is a magical place! Lana and her extended family of staff have created a true haven in the midst of the unspoiled magnificence of the Osa Peninsula. The design and aesthetics are in complete harmony with the natural surroundings. The dense with flora and fauna jungle and pristine ocean are literally at your doorstep. All meals are prepared and eaten together on the property, and they are fresh, local and delicious. Many of the ingredients are grown on the property. Luna Lodge also holds yoga and meditation classes, offers spa services of many different types, and indeed has developed its own curriculum and teacher training in yoga and other spiritual practices. There are hiking and beautiful waterfalls on the property. The hosts also can organize all kinds of outings for you, depending on your interests and level of fitness. The guided visit to Corcovado National Park just next door is not to be missed. This is not a luxury lodge. It's better -- like a harmonious extended family welcoming you to a more tranquil, vibrant and celebratory way of life in one of the most biodiverse spots on the planet. It is truly restorative.
