The Kantary Beach Hotel is quite a 15-20 minute drive north of Khao Lak. As it turned out we were quite happy with that, as Khao Lak is a typical busy tourist town, lacking in any great character. The Hotel did offer regular minibus transfers to and from Khao Lak, on chargeable basis, but we never fealt the need to visit Khao Lak. Instead we spent a few days relaxing by the Hotel pools, and strolling along the beautiful Coconut Beach. We did sample the Hotel restaurant on our first evening, but found it expensive and lacking in atmosphere, compared to what we had experienced elsewhere in Thailand. For others evening dinners we preferred to walk along the beach to a small selection of on the beach local restaurants, where we dined in candlelight as the waves gently rolled in. The local food was delicious and drinks reasonably priced.
Our Hotel suite was very spacious and well appointed.
Overall a nice place to stay with some good value dining within easy walking distance along the beach.

The villa's were excellent and the perfect size for two people. Very handy for the beach, pools, restaurants etc.
Very impressed they were cleaned every day by courteous and friendly staff.
