Nice private baths. Very friendly and helpful staff. There's a 7-11 just across the road. Too bad the Sounkyo ropeway was under maintenance during our stay.

This hotel was a last minute addition to our trip. It's super close to some great hikes, set in a quiet onsen town and near a ropeway to get up to the top of the nearby mountains for amazing views. Food options in the hotel were many... so everyone was happy.
Overall, loved our stay here!!! They even had a bingo game which we joined in... pretty funny. I won and gave my prize away.
Onsen were also super nice!!! Oh, and the sound of the river all night was so soothing while we slept!!! Loved the Sounkyo Onsen Choyo Resort.

The food is repeated every day for almost 4 days. Food qualities is bad condition is lousy no form of service. Food is really at the 4/10 rating. So sick of the food on the 2 nd day. They must know the truth.
