Stephanie’s home was spectacular!I recommend getting there within the check in time because her historical tour & info is phenomenal! We unfortunately were late and she still accommodated & treated us so well. The rooms are amazing. Her cooking breakfast was so yummy! Penny the scruffy little dog is so cute. I wish we had more time but we’re on a mission to get to Crosby, MN for mtb. It would be nice to enjoy the screen porch in the evening. We hope to visit & stay again soon. Stephanie is absolutely delightful! Wonderful knowledge of the community and the history of Oaklawn Inn and Menominee in general. This is a charming and thoughtful bed-and-breakfast. Speaking of breakfast… it was great! A special bonus is the large wraparound screen porch with lots of comfortable seating. We will be back in September and we’re going to book now.

The guest house is one of the most charming and accommodating places I have ever stayed in. The proprietor is a historian who is warm and personalizes the experience for each guest with humble grace. She has taken a late 1800's manor house and refurbished it to it's original elegance. Upon arrival, you get a tour of the house and if interested, a verbal tour of the history of the estate, the town, and the territory as it became a state. She reviews how the local businesses provided a major contribution in the development of the United States. Being a history buff myself, this was particularly intriguing to have my own , in-house, historian. She has created great accommodations with special attention to all of the details a weary traveler may have forgotten. The beds are very comfortable with silk pillowcases. There are extra throw blankets to keep one warm on an afternoon nap. Perhaps the coup de gras is her home cooked and lovingly prepared hearty, healthy breakfasts, each morning you arise. This Guest House embraces you and makes your stay better. SG

My husband and I enjoyed our stay very much! The setting was so peaceful and we particularly appreciated the screened in porch both morning and night. Our room had absolutely everything one might need. We felt right at home!
