Horsted Place

There was a golden wedding lunch party on the Saturday I stayed and one couple brought their dog which constantly yapped all afternoon when they left it outside in the garden. It did not make for a very relaxing afternoon reading on the terrace.

Everything was excellent. Staff who expertly served a table of 24, courteous, efficient, polite. Food was amazing. Room was outstanding. All staff were lovely, approachable and helpful. Added bonus was a welcome for breakfast and more delicious food. Absolutely stunning all round

Beautiful building, well appointed rooms, great bathroom. Lovely meal in restaurant and top notch breakkie too. Only complaint would be double bed rather than king

Well...I start by saying there was a power outage when we arrived in the afternoon, it went many hours and our dinner booking with friends was shifted to their sister hotel. But I am told by my local friends that power outages are common in this part of England, so I didnt count this as a hotel maintenance issue. When I booked they only had Neville suite left, it seemed expensive for a room, but it has a whole separate entertaining room with a dining table, sofa and fireplace (I must have missed the pictures!). It was a gorgeous suite with a large light filled bathroom (lucky as no power :) ). The breakfast was delightful olde English atmosphere, people were quite well dressed for breakfast! Out the back was a grass field with croquet, the bar would have been lovely to have an intimate drink but closed due to lack of power. It was very lovely and I wished the power didnt come back on so we could stay in a manor by candlelight...but back on due to generator arriving before we returned from our dinner at the Golf Club. The stff were very informative and proactive in rearranging things , much appreciated.
