It was a great hotel- staff was very helpful and friendly. Great location. The only reasons I gave it a 4/5 is that the room was rather sparse and dark and the elevator was over 100 years old and showed it. Other than that we enjoyed our stay.

Unique was the elevator.
The room was different. At first glance the property seemed old, but it felt contemporary. The room was too dark. Needed more light . Parking was too high, so we parked on the street. Loved the location.

The Neptune is right downtown in Providence, so would be useful for business travel etc. Saturday night is very noisy below on the street with Irish bars nearby (maybe not so loud in the back.) The decor is wonderfully quirky and lobby full of art books. Staff very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my stay there.

Everything was great except no coffeemaker/coffee in the room as well as no phone in the room to contact the front desk.
