We loved the older Country Club charm. It was beautiful to look out at the water from our room and walk to the castle ruins. The dining is charming as well! Great spot for quietness. We will come back!

Overall the hotel is a winner. It's a charming place with delightful grounds including the lovely lake. As for my room, well I can honestly that I've never stayed anywhere with so much wow factor. The amazing view, spaciousness and general splendour were top notch. There is also a lovely deep bath and good pressure for the shower water. I am not saying it was perfect, the sofa has seen better days and could do with replacing I feel (I made do with one of the armchairs instead). There was also some isuses with keeping one of the windows securely opened as well as a dripping tap. However, the faults didn't stop me from falling in love with it. The room oozes elegance with old school class and character. I also must mention the staff who were friendly, polite, helpful and courteous. The restaurant is close to the main building, very handy and not horrendously expensive. I thoroughly recommend staying here.
