Wakola Hotel Cheikh Anta DIOP

The two best aspects of Wakola Hotel Cheikh Anta are the staff and the rooftop terrace! ALL the staff, from the manager, the receptionists (especially Khady), the cleaners and the kitchen staff are all so kind, friendly and helpful. For example, on the very hot afternoon that I arrived, Khady was kind enough to offer to accompany me to the market to look for Senegalese clothes. There were a few tiny issues with the first room I was given, but the manager and Khady allowed me to choose another room and moved me immediately. The rooftop terrace has beautiful views and is great for watching the sunset and having dinner. It has lovely, cooling breezes after a hot, humid day. The two dinners that I had at Wakola were both delicious, with the kitchen staff first asking what I wanted to eat and how I'd like it prepared.

Location was easy to get to local shops and the nearby market. Some streets weren’t the best looking but for a place to rest your head… it was good enough.
