| Pet-Friendly Paradise |
The home is dog friendly only - up to 2 dogs weighing no more than 65lbs each (larger dogs may be considered on a case-by-case basis - please message us before booking). Dogs must be included in the reservation and the $250 pet fee per dog, per stay, is due at time of booking. Dogs are not allowed on any furniture and must be crated anytime the owner is not present. Larger dogs may be considered but must be approved by the owner before booking. *An undisclosed dog fee of $400 (per dog) will be charged if you bring a dog that is not included in the reservation and pet fee paid prior to check-in.*
We encourage all guests to purchase TRAVEL INSURANCE through the platform or privately. Life happens and travel insurance will help protect your trip (reimburse cost if cancelled) in the event you cannot make it. Please note, we do not make any exceptions to our cancellation policy so please protect your vacation investment - we cannot be your financial heroes in the event you cannot make it for any reason.

*IMPORTANT* this is a very special home to us, named after our beloved black labrador, Maverick. We are excited to share it with fellow beach lovers, families, small groups, and other sweet pups. However, we expect every guest to respect the home, its contents and follow the house rules to ensure a safe, enjoyable experience. If you are not able to do that, then this is not the home for you. We do not tolerate any type of parties and if you're a night owl, this is not the home for you.
The entire house is yours!
You MUST BE 25 years old in order to book this home and the person who books the home must be present for the entire stay.
The home has 3 ring cameras - one at the front door, one on the game room building facing the driveway and another one on the corner of the house facing the grassy yard/game room building - all devices are for security and have video/audio recording capabilities. They are used for check in/out and security purposes and may not be tampered with (covered, unplugged, etc.). Evidence of tampering with either camera will result in immediate trip cancellation and no refund.
! Weather Related Refunds! - We follow all local guidelines and officials’ directions when it comes to tropical storms, hurricanes, etc. We will follow our cancellation policy unless there is an active evacuation order in place and decisions will be made on a case by case basis.

This was our second year staying at one of Kate and Phillip’s rentals but a first at The Salty Maverick, and once again it exceeded every expectation! We can confidently say that we will only stay at Unicosol Properties when visiting Port St. Joe.
The home is absolutely beautiful with an amazing open floor plan that makes it perfect for families and pets. Everything is incredibly clean and well-maintained, and the house is stocked to the gills with supplies—you truly only need to bring your clothes. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered to make your stay comfortable and stress-free.
One of our favorite features is the covered, screened-in back porch. We spent our evenings relaxing on the porch swing, watching movies, and enjoying the coastal breeze. It’s such a unique and cozy space that really sets this property apart.
The location is fantastic as well—just two blocks from public beach access, making trips to the beach quick and easy.
What really makes this property special, though, are the hosts, Kate and Phillip. They are some of the kindest and most generous people we’ve had the pleasure of renting from. Their responsiveness, hospitality, and genuine care for their guests are unmatched.
If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable, well-stocked home with exceptional hosts, The Salty Maverick is it. We are already looking forward to our next stay! The puppies approved too😉

My husband and I (plus our two dogs) stayed for a little over two weeks at The Salty Maverick in March. We felt welcomed right away as soon as we entered this beautifully decorated home, and our stay was incredibly comfortable and relaxing! The dogs were welcomed with bowls and toys, and our girl still especially loves playing with her souvenir stuffed whale from Florida!!
Kate went above and beyond in communicating and accommodating us and was super friendly as well. You can tell she puts a lot of thought and love into hosting. We had everything we needed at the house as it was very well stocked from the kitchen, laundry and the bathrooms. The location was perfect for our first time in the area, and we loved having more space as the lot is very large. It was just a short walk to the beach, and we loved taking the dogs there for our daily walks. We would definitely stay again at this place or any of her other properties!
