I stayed at Sigiri Mihira Home Stay for two nights and it was an extremely pleasant stay. The house is half an hour walking from lion rock, on a little road next to the main street. The room is attached to the family house and it overlooks a small garden; they also have a little shop just there, where one can buy basic groceries. Location is quiet, the room is basic but has all you might need for a couple of days in Sigiriya and it was clean and smelling good when I arrived. There’s a couple of restaurants just a few minutes walking from the house. The breakfast was nice and I appreciated the fact that they prepared different things between one day and the other, together with making sure to arrange the most convenient time for me to have it each day (and respecting it according to my needs). Kaushika, which is the son of the owners, is a very kind person and contacted me the day before my arrival; we organized a safari to do in the early afternoon after my checkin, which was very nice and the day after he took me to Dambulla. He also proposed me other activities, but was never insistent and always respecting my space. :)))

Everything was good, but keep in mind that you might need to take a tuk tuk at night if you want to eat at some restaurants that are not just next to the property (where there’s a few), as walking on the road at night can be dangerous (in Sigiriya area in general).

Great location, walking distance to the centre. really friendly staff that went above and beyond, driving us around. Shop attached to the property. Nice green surroundings. Outdoor seating area. Good air con and mosquito nets.

It is very basic but the price is amazing.

Wij hebben heerlijk genoten van dit waanzinnige guesthouse. Hele lieve familie, die ons warm ontving en hielp bij van alles. De locatie is top en ligt dichtbij restaurants. Verder heb je een grote kamer, met nog een eenpersoonsbed, waardoor je ook wat ruimte voor kleren hebt. De douche was warm!

De WiFi doet het niet altijd, maar als dat het is!

Ne faite surtout pas confiance à l’oncle qui est omniprésent ( même au petit déjeuner) et qui ne vous lâche pas tant que vous ne passez pas par lui pour une activité. Frais de transport cachés Fuyez la proposition du spa « qui est le seul clean »… Attrape touriste. Bien mais hors prix!!!
