Other than having a difficult time finding the stairs (stairs are actually located to left, within Chinese Restaurants front porch area) the location was on the main street. The room was very clean and exactly as pictured. If you have any issues, just email them and they will respond right away. We enjoyed Vinnie's Italian Restaurant (which was just 1 street over), Salty Fox Coffee for breakfast (can't miss it, white house in front of ferry entrance) and Friday Harbor House (upscale breakfast venue). Of course we enjoyed ice cream locations and the 'markets' were right down the street. If you need a laundromat, it's just a few blocks away....easy walk. Although we enjoyed taking our vehicle to Orcas Island and hiking the falls, the number of hours waiting for/traveling on the ferry, was too much....there are so many sites to see and do on San Juan Island (it's only 14 miles around), we would have stayed and enjoyed some more museums, etc. I would definitely recommend Blue Water Inn!!

My husband and I arrived by boat and walked up to the room from the marina. Great location. Easy access to restaurants, ferry, marina. New. The only access is up a fight of stairs which could be an issue for some so I wanted to call it out. There are coat hooks but no closet/hangers which could be inconvenient for some.

This was termed a “hostel”…not like any I’ve seen. There is a common area, but the room was Marriott quality with a private bath. The location is perfect! Walkable to just about anything!Highly recommend!

Only one wash cloth in the bathroom. Communal fridge and freezer was dirty with meat/fish blood. Neat idea if staying with liots of family members. No host on site. Self check-in and check out.
