Grand Galata Hotel & Spa

Great location close to Galata Tower, the waterfront as well as to shopping/restaurants. Very helpful staff. Great breakfast. Will definitely stay there again.

We really loved our stay here! We were lucky enough to get upgraded to a suite, which was extremely spacious, very convenient for our luggage, and offered a beautiful view. The location was fantastic—situated in a charming, vibrant neighborhood with plenty to see, yet close enough to the bridge to easily cross over and explore all the main attractions. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. We also thoroughly enjoyed the delicious breakfast, as well as the spa facilities—especially the steam room and sauna. Highly recommended!

Breakfast was nice but repetitive. Room was nice and spacious, and the bathroom was clean. Staff were friendly. S.Kaplan looked after me and my family throughout our trip, making us feel very welcomed into the hotel.

I would like to see more variety day to day for the Breakfast. It was the same options everyday, which got boring by day 5. My concerns lie with the customer service received from Booking.com directly, who lied about contacting the hotel about my reservation, when I tried to amend it (due to my mother having a fall which prevented her from travelling).

The hotel is in a good location, a short walk to good restaurants and the galata tower. Breakfast in the rooftop restaurant was lovely, staff generally helpful and beds very comfortable. The pool (which was only open on the morning we left) was lovely, just a shame we only got to use it once.

Our airport taxi transfer did not arrive and there was a lot of confusion trying to sort it out which was not fun with a tired 6 year old. Turns out they booked one car for two collections and the driver took the other people. We waited 45 mins to actually get in a car to the hotel (should have just jumped in a local taxi!). After quite a battle the hotel manager waived the cost of the taxi. We ordered our own uber on the return trip! The other issue was that the pool was closed for the majority of our stay without any advance warning. This was the main reason I booked the hotel as my daughter loves to swim, When we arrived late on Thursday we were told it was closed but would open on Friday morning at 10am, it didn’t. Then we were told Saturday at 10am, still not open. Then 2pm, then 4pm, then 10am Sunday. Very frustrating and we only got one 20 min swim as had to leave to catch our flight. No compensation of any kind offered. Seems like we had a run of bad luck!
