Rock House in Buxton, Derbyshire sleeps eleven people in six bedrooms.
Rock House, a four-storey abode, consists of a kitchen/diner with electric oven and hob, microwave, two fridge/freezers, dishwasher, and dining table, a sitting room with TV, a snug, a game room with table tennis, and a cloakroom with basin and WC. The bedrooms consist of a double with en-suite bath, two second-floor doubles, second-floor twin, family room with double and single, and adult bunk bed. There is a shower room with walk-in shower, basin, heated towel rail, and WC, and a shower room with walk-in shower, basin, heated towel rail, and WC. Outside, there is a non-enclosed front patio with furniture. Rear patio and roadside parking available. Two well-behaved pets welcome. Sorry, no smoking. However it was during the 18th and 19th centuries, under the patronage of successive Dukes of Devonshire, that the Palladian splendour of the Buxton of today was designed and built - including the magnificent semi-circular Crescent, The Great Stable, Hall Bank, The Square, The Pavilion Gardens and The Opera House. Today visitors continue to enjoy these magnificent buildings and gardens, as well as the Opera House's full programme and annual festivals of music and arts. There is good walking close by with rugged peaks to the north and gentle hills and dales to the south and a number of pretty towns and villages are dotted throughout including Bakewell, Ashford-in-the-Water, Castleton and Edale. The stunning properties of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are within easy driving distance and must be seen while visiting this area. A great base for exploring the Peak District.

The place was clean overall but there were some smaller issues as in lots of the plates were chipped, table mats dirty on arrival, the oven didn’t work properly, which we have now notified you of, the curtains in some of the rooms were not fixed correctly to the rails. Loads of space to enjoy time together and location very quiet at night.

This townhome in Buxton was absolutely perfect for 2 families with children and the grandparents. The bedroom configurations worked perfectly for our families and there was extra space. The basement play room and ping pong room were excellent for the kids. The kitchen and dining room had all the essentials. There were adequate bathrooms. The only downside was parking. We knew it would be street parking but it was not easy to find parking for our vans (Ford Tourneo 9 seaters). The only other issue that could be problematic is that there isn’t a full bath on the main floor. So anyone staying in the ground floor bedroom must go up to the second floor for a shower or bath.

The location is very good as in central Buxton, easy walk to centre, parking surprisingly straightforward as onstreet.
House was well equipped with quirky layout meant there were always new things to explore.
Facilities good but no washing machine may impact families staying for a week.
Bedrooms all nice but hallways and high traffic areas need a bit of TLC other than that comfortable stay which everyone enjoyed
