Ellen Kensington

Perfect location for our visit to Wimbledon. Lovely bar and restaurant. Friendly and helpful staff.

I really enjoyed my stay at Ellen Kensington and will definitely return. Nice, well-decorated room overlooking the park across the street. Very convenient location, only a couple of minutes' walk to Earl's Court Station. The hotel is on a nice, quiet street. Good air conditioning! Everything was clean and lovely. The inclusion of a large daily bottle of water and minibar items was lovely and very thoughtful, though I was never able to find a bottle opener for the beer. Good breakfast! A bathrobe and slippers were provided. One thing to note...Housekeeping does not come automatically. Be sure to put the "Service My Room" sign on your door. A very nice man working the night shift kindly brought up towels and some tea supplies for the next morning and left a message for housekeeping to come the next day. Housekeeping did come the next day, but not all the coffee, tea, and other needed items were restocked, and, for some reason, my bathrobe was taken and not returned. My air conditioner broke, but I notified housekeeping as I was leaving that day, and she was beginning to service the room. By the time I returned that evening, it was fixed, and the room was pleasant. The Restaurant...The food for dinner was just okay, not great, and the service was really slow. Overall...This is a lovely, well-decorated hotel with thoughtful touches in a great location. A couple of hiccups, but no deal breakers. I very much enjoyed my stay and will return next time I am in London.

Superb location, really clean and safe area, lovely walk through into london of not fancying tube

The Staff at Ellen Kensington was not only polite but very personable as well! As with any hotel, there were a couple of glitches with our room but they were quickly resolved by the staff. As a former business owner myself I was very pleased how open they were to feedback that I had regarding a couple of areas. We were there for our 12 day stay in London and each day when we came back to the hotel it felt like we were coming back home when we were greeted by the staff. The included breakfast was excellent and the linguine dinner we had was very tasty as well. We probably won't have a chance to return to London but if we did we definitely would consider staying there again!
