The location is very good, close to the L and not far from the F train. The East Village is fun and funky, much safer than when I lived here years ago, many excellent restaurants nearby. It was very nice to have a washer and dryer in the unit. The apartment, however, was not very good at all. It is dark and dirty. It’s the only time that I ever felt I had to clean the bathroom at a VRBO. There was mildew where the water stagnated on the windowsill. The tiles were dirty. You could hear the toilet leaking continually and refill every two minutes. The curtain on the back door ended approximately 2 feet above the door and did not block out light. The light under the microwave was broken. The top portion of the dishwasher door handle was broken. The rug in the living room was filthy and needs to be replaced. There was a dirty sponge in the sink, which I used to clean the bathroom. Some of the coffee cups in the cabinet were dirty. They did not have any information on where extra towels or sheets were, neighborhood restaurants, or anything you might find nearby Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Target. The check in instructions weren’t very clear. The picture of the door for the apartment is not where you would use the key that they leave in a lock box. We did not use the air conditioner so do not know if it works or not.I communicated all the above to the host. Future clients can note if the above issues have been addressed.

The space was as advertised. Convenient near public transportation. We did see some bugs and I believe the front door lock needs to be replaced. The owner cannot control the neighbors and we started our stay on Halloween but the neighbors were loud slamming front door of the building and yelling in the hall at 2 - 3 am. Also, I would suggest somehow covering the hot water pipe in the master bedroom. Hot to the touch. Other than those things, we enjoyed our stay.
