Bat and Ball Hostel

Location was perfect for my concert at the Hordern pavilion. Lovely staff. Clean and friendly.

I wasn't sure where to enter as the hotel was closed. Found the key pad so figured that was it.

Was easy to locate and place was clean with shared facilities and they had a rooftop area to work or chill in. The self check in was seamless and the volunteers were helpful.

Ventilation in Room 8 was poor. Only one window and a ceiling fan. Got stuffy real quick with 4 adults in the room. Not so sure about the other rooms.

Excellent location and well priced for this. The outdoor terraces are really nice, and although it's above a pub I slept well with good earplugs! Kitchen and terrace layout encourage socialising which is nice, and I heard the pub offers a discount for hostel guests. Easy access to buses, light rail and supermarket, and a really good acai place around the corner!

The 4 person dorm was pretty cramped for 4 people each with a suitcase, although the terrace through the window made things feel slightly less claustrophobic. The kitchen/dining space is also quite small for the number of people that the hostel can fit, sometimes there's no indoor spot to eat your meal (and only 2 sinks to wash up). I did a 4 night stay without any staff/volunteers interacting with me, I had no issues with the accom but it was a little weird to check yourself in and out without meeting any staff.

Si bien está un poco lejos del metro, tiene buena conectividad. También valoro que tiene los baños suficientes para todos los huespedes. Buena cocina.

Estuve tres noches en su alojamiento y si bien a grandes rasgos la estancia fue positiva, creo que uno de los puntos más negros fue la disposición y vinculo con una de las voluntarias que estaba en el lugar (Anne). No solo fue despota al saludar el primer día, sino que además, nos informó que debía cerrar la terraza de una forma desmedida. El segundo día, llegamos a cocina a las 21:00 horas (la cocina "cierra" a las 21:45) y de forma inmediata se acercó a decirnos que solo quedaban unos minutos y que nos debíamos retirar. Mientras cocinábamos, con agua caliente, ella no dudó en meterse entremedio y limpiar la cocina; sin duda podría haber causado un accidente. El resto de las horas que pasó en las zonas comunes lo hizo de mala gana, haciendo fuertes ruidos al momento de guardar la loza o sacar la basura. La verdad es que nos hizo muy desagradable la instancia. También notamos presencia de cucarachas en las habitaciones.
