Your "home away from home" retreat awaits in Celina, Ohio. Our 790 sq ft cottage directly on the lakes edge is perfect for romantic getaways, small families or friends that really like each other! You're sure to make fantastic memories with a stay here at Al's Place!
This 2-bedroom cottage features a queen bed, twin bed, and a full bed, ensuring a comfortable stay for all guests. With amenities including an equipped kitchen, AC, heat, Wi-Fi, and a washer/dryer, your stay will be stress-free; a hotel like stay in comfort with the feel and privacy of being in a home. Relax in this quaint, 106-year-old lake side cabin after a day of exploring the area or fishing. Wake to lake views from either bedroom, then enjoy your morning drink of choice on the deck!
With the autumn temperatures, we’ve pulled the seasonal fishing pier for winter safety. There is still an opportunity to drop in a line from the deck and spend time fishing till the water freezes. You can cast from the deck over the shore rocks, just dress warm for the temps during your stay!
During the warmer months, we encourage you to bring your kayaks or paddleboards and go exploring right off the back yard! It is a wonderful place for watching the wildlife as a variety of birds fill the area, including the graceful American White Pelicans, Bald Eagles and Great Blue Heron.

We have been adding updates and special touches at Al's Place and are continuing to improve this charming, little, old home with a unique floor plan right on the lake. We are in the processes of painting the outside of the home this season! Last winter we painted and put new caulk in the bathroom. Plus, in the large bedroom we have painted, added bigger windows for an enhanced view and fresh air breezes, along with all new flooring! Guests love it and we hope you have a wonderful getaway in our lakeside town during your stay with us, too.

Please understand that this property is on the lake which means applicable wildlife live in the area, including mayfly, spiders, stink bugs, mosquitos and lady bugs. We do use ecofriendly deterrents, but they do take advantage of open doors and enter anyways. We do not provide refunds for bugs unless a professional pest control exterminator determines there to be an inside infestation. We try to understand that our local birdlife needs these critters for their survival.
Fresh air is the best air, and we do our best for all our guests. This is a smoke/vape free property, both inside and outside. We ask that you to take a walk off the property to public property when you participate in this activity. Additional cleaning fees will be imposed on you when additional efforts are necessary to prepare for next guest due to smoking of any kind, including vaping, e-cigarettes.

This house is 104 years old and right on the lake and you can barely tell. It is so well taken care of, no usual wear showing from being on a lake. Lovely decorations and all possible things we could or would need were right there. Even the special new bar soap in the bathroom for the shower or face were so carefully chosen. I ended up taking the bars I used, home with me because it was like washing with luxury spa products. All the little things you may forget or didn’t realize you would need, were right there just in case we needed. The view is priceless and the neighbors were all so friendly and helpful after a quick bad storm rolled through and dropped a large tree branch across the deck. Brenda was so responsive with my questions and had great suggestions for places to eat and see live music. There is no list for things to do when checking out. You can basically just leave it like you do a hotel but you have your own private house. This place is definitely going to be our first choice the next time we visit Celina.

The house was very cozy and clean. They have everything stocked that you can think of from books, games, kitchen items, to outdoor and even for your dog. Bren communication was great and even checked in on us to make sure all was OK and we even had cookies waiting. The view from the lake when waking up and in the evenings with the moon reflecting off the water was amazing.

Nice little cabin with a beautiful view of the lake. The host was very accommodating, even left chocolate chip cookies. If you like to fish, it's a good spot right off the deck. I caught some nice ones every time I threw my line in. I also got to see the bald eagle that has a nest in a tree nearby. There is room for up to 5 people to sleep, however, if you plan on staying in it might be a little cramped for that number in the living space. Neighbors are very close, but very nice. Beautiful sunsets and peaceful mornings. I would recommend for a couple or a couple with a child. They have a grill, and a firepit w/wood, so you don't have to bring anything but the food. Very nice.

Cute older lakeside home! We had plans on boating and checking out the shops but instead we spent the entire long weekend relaxing and enjoying the incredible views. Very relaxing. Will definitely be going back!
