Silkari The Charrington at Chatswood

I loved the interior design of the Charrington, I fully got into the vibe. I was mesmerised by the carpet. Windows you can open and outdoor space is always important to me and the room delivered with a great balcony and peaceful setting. I got a park easy on the weekend. I walked down into Chatswood for dinner and was delighted with all the activity and dining on offer, felt safe.

I liked everything really. I didn't get to have breakfast because I had to leave too early, so that was dissapointing but the set up looked great and I couldn't get the TV to turn on which I'm sure would be fixed easily.

Beautiful! Clean, welcoming and quiet. Staff took so much pride in their employ.

The location is the biggest highlight of this hotel. It’s within an easy 10-minute walk to Chatswood Station, Westfield, the markets, and plenty of great cafés and restaurants, making it very convenient. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet, and the bed provided a good night’s sleep.

For a room costing over $200 per night, I expected a few more thoughtful amenities, such as complimentary bottled water, but none was provided. The in-room coffee machine also wasn’t working, and there were no milk pods available. As someone who drinks coffee with milk, that was quite disappointing. I also wouldn’t recommend paying extra for the continental breakfast. It was very basic and didn’t offer much variety. It consisted mainly of sliced bread for toasting, jam, pastries, cereal, yogurt, fruit, milk, and coffee. There were no protein options such as cheese, ham, or even boiled eggs, which made it feel poor value for the price. Combined with the average quality of the pastries, I’d recommend skipping the breakfast and visiting one of the many excellent cafés nearby instead. Finally, I booked the upgraded room with the large balcony, but apart from the balcony itself, the room was essentially the same size as the standard room. Unless you specifically plan to use the balcony, I don’t think the upgrade is worth the extra cost.
