The Harbourview Hotel

The hotel is beautiful. We arrived early in Carnlough, left our bags at the hotel and went for a walk and some lunch. Carnlough is beautiful but it was also cold and rainy. We did return at one point to the hotel in the hope our room might be ready early or that there might have been a quiet spot we could sit and read with a pot of tea however the hotel was hosting a wedding so any additional space was closed off due to the event. We did get into our room about a 30 mins early which was still nice of them. The room and bathroom were very large, much bigger than expected. My husband found the room a little cold, I was okay and they're didn't seem to be a way to alter the room temp.

We headed early to the Carnlough area to make the most of our time if we had of known there was a wedding on and we weren't able to wander around the hotel/bar area we probably would have stayed in Larne and gotten lunch there before heading out to Carnlough. We also had dinner in the hotel restaurant, the staff were very attentive at the start of the dinner and then seemed to completely disappear. I think they were also serving dessert for the wedding at the same time we were finishing dinner so it felt a longer gap between us finishing eating, having the plates cleared and dessert arriving. But the staff were apologetic and very friendly

Just booked our wedding here for 2028 as we fell in love on our first stay at the beginning of the year. The staff are wonderful. Helpful, friendly and welcoming. The locals are amazing and bring such a warm, homely atmosphere. The characters of both staff and locals really bring out the culture of this gorgeous little village. This hotel has such a history amd so many stories to be heard. Absolutely love it here!

Staff..Position on the coast.Very nice bedrooms.

Price of soft drinks.Far too expensive. Breakfast room was lovely .Lounge for eating was tired.

Spacious bedroom with lift access. Modern bathroom with excellent shower. Superb location with parking opposite. I really enjoyed the complimentary Carnlough Whiskey. Comfortable public areas to sit and natter. Superb breakfast which was served to us - most unusual and welcome not to have to wander about carrying plates etc. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

We booked dinner to celebrate our wedding anniversary and my wife's meal was disappointing in two courses. Maybe a bad choice from a varied menu but her mussels contained the smallest meat we've ever seen or nothing at all! Her lemon posset was not set properly. In fact the bottom half could have been poured out! My meal, in fairness, was excellent.
