This was the perfect home for our family. Plenty of room to spread out and be together, or find a quiet place to read or relax. We loved the “Arrogantly Shabby”decor. We saw a couple of reviews saying the home needed updating. We disagree. We having been vacationing in Pawleys since the 80's and we love the comfortable as an old pair of shoes vibe. The covered marsh was lovely and the Ocean front porch equally enjoyable. We did have an issue with the oven, but Peace vacations took care of it for us. We can't wait to return next year.

We had a wonderful time at Laughlin Place. Our group enjoyed being close to the beach. Also, we enjoyed the fishing platform. We will keep this place in mind for next year's trip.. Thank you for your kindness and availability when I had questions

Family aging 1 - 79 years felt like LAUGHIN PLACE was a home away from home!

The bones of the house are great, but the maintenance is really lacking. The whole place could use a pressure wash and painting as everything is rusted. There's mold all over the steps going up to the roof. There are holes in the floors in the walls, there are screws sticking out in multiple places that could cut somebody. The refrigerator in the downstairs apartment is not going cold and the icemaker doesn't work. There are no hoses to squirt off anything and because the front driveway is not paved, track sand into the house very easily up the stairs. There's no dunking tank for the front or the back to rinse feet. Furniture is old and tired. Rusted broken chair at the top deck not enough seating up there for more than two people. I believe with a minimal amount of work or investment this house could be a really good option for a family, but because of the above mentioned issues, we are going to probably look elsewhere next year thank you. Really enjoyed the crows nest and the dock was in great shape.
