Superb Location close to the train station but also close to great restaurants ( immediately outside the door) and view of the church dome a close to everything we wanted to visit Saman met us and let us in. And was super attentive via WhatApp. When our coffee machine was not working he replaced it within 10 mins. Security is good. The apartment is behind 4 locked doors! Comfortable apartment had everything we wanted.

On the 3rd floor, the 66 steps each way made you think carefully about how many time you wanted to you up and down each day 😀 . Its worth staying at least 3 nights so you only carry you bags up once. Saman did offer to carry our bags up which was kind.

Struttura fantastica. Abbiamo soggiornato in 3, due adulti e un bambino. Appartamento storico dotato di bagno moderno, camera dal letto matrimoniale e soggiorno separato con divano letto e cucinino. Tutto elegantemente arredato e dotato di ogni comfort. Pulizia impeccabile. Posizione perfetta, sul retro della basilica di San Lorenzo, a 8 minuti a piedi dalla stazione di Santa Maria Novella e a pochi passi dalla Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore. Host gentilissimo, sempre disponibile e mai invadente. Saman, che si occupa dell’accoglienza degli ospiti, è stato impeccabile e cordialissimo.

From the moment I booked online, Matteo was tremendously helpful and friendly. He guided me through any questions I had and helped us find somewhere to park our rental car, for a good daily rate, which was just down from the apartment. When we were driving there he was, again, very helpful and made us feel very welcome. When we arrived we were met by Samam who helped us take our luggage up to our apartment. Salam was also very friendly and patient. Matteo spent about 20 minutes with us giving us GREAT information on where to go for wonderful dining experiences (even gave us walking directions). His knowledge of the city and even the building we were in was impressive. Without Matteo's local knowledge we wouldn't have known to get the four day pass to museums, which saved us a lot of time waiting in queues. All are within walking distance. The apartment is perfectly situated and another bonus is that there are views of the Basilica di San Lorenzo from every window of the apartment where we stayed. Matteo and Samam made themselves available for our entire visit and when I had forgotten something at the apartment they were so wonderfully helpful they got it to me without me having to go all the way back. I cannot rate this place highly enough. Would I recommend staying there? Absolutely the best place to stay if you want to be in the thick of everything. My husband and I are already planning on coming back and staying here for longer.

There wasn't anything we didn't like. There were no surprises as Matteo informed us about everything before we got there.

Central location a walk from the rail station. The young man who met us kindly carried our cases up several flights of stairs. He was very accommodating. Unfortunately he was on a day off when we had to carry them down!

I was influenced when booking by a window photo of the dome. There appear to be several apartments ( that did not show on Booking. Com site). Ours was identified as Leonardo. Alas it was at the back of the building with no outlook. The toilet seat was a mismatch and loose. The shower had no shelf so battles had to be on the floor. Catch was it was impossible to bend over and pick them up. This apartment would be a trap in a fire and there was not fire plan or smoke detectors ( in Australia they are required in every room). There was no iron and ironing board in the room but this seems normal in Italy. I could not recommend this particular room to anyone, especially due to fire escape risk and larger guests will find the shower uncomfortable. ( note I was a resort operator for many years and it was Small Luxury Hotel of the Year during my tenure). This resort was singled out for guest experience and attention to detail). The other front suites may offer a different experience
