Fairmont Mumbai

Very conveniently located near the airport. They seem to take their clean air seriously, which is a blessing! Sleeping in the hotel brought respite to my asthma flare up. Rooms were a good size. Having the toilet a a separate room helped with shared room. Individually most of the staff seemed to go above and beyond. Shout to Dinesh and Nivrutti from Bell and Shraddha from front desks

There seems to be no system in place for storing temperature controlled medication! I was told by one person it was against storage of their food policy! When it got sorted the big kicker was that they weren’t able to freeze the medicine ice packs needed for travel. As a result had to fly with just cooled ice packs, which meant medicine losing its efficacy and god knows it’s bloody expensive 😔. The insulation between connecting rooms is bad. Could hear my neighbours voices.

Facilities, Attentive staff, Easy access to all areas

The location is convenient for the airport but for attractions it’s a bit far but manageable.

What a fabulous hotel! During our trip to India, we stayed at three Oberoi hotels and three Taj hotels, so we had some pretty impressive hotels to compare it with, but the Fairmont Mumbai was absolutely fantastic. The Art Deco design is stunning, with wonderfully high ceilings and an incredible sense of space throughout. Everything feels so grand and luxurious. The buffet restaurant was amazing, both at dinner and breakfast. The choice and quality of food were superb, and the chefs simply couldn't do enough for us. Nothing was too much trouble. The spa was equally impressive. My husband had an express massage while I enjoyed reflexology, and both treatments were excellent. There was also a lovely outdoor drinks area that we sadly didn't get the chance to enjoy, as we had an early flight the following morning. Had we realised quite how fabulous this hotel was going to be, we would definitely have arranged to stay longer! It's far too good to be considered simply an airport hotel. Apart from one small criticism, we honestly couldn't fault it one iota.

If I had to find one criticism, it would be the height of the bed and the easy proximity to the switches which should be 'next to the bed'. I'm quite short and found the bed rather high and the light switches were positioned too far away to reach comfortably from the bed. Having recently undergone hip replacement surgery, I was particularly conscious of not wanting to stretch awkwardly or risk injuring myself. A small detail in an otherwise exceptional hotel, but perhaps something worth considering for short guests and/or those with mobility difficulties.

The decor of the hotel was stunning! It was clean in general areas.

Despite the facade of the hotel and grand decor, the service was horrible. The lounge access was useless as the waiting time for anything was preposterous. Orders for breakfast took over an hour despite reminding 4 different persons. Housekeeping was done poorly as well, with amenities not being replenished unless requested.
