You’ll find all of this here in the tranquil North Sea village of Eckwarden, away from the tourist hustle and bustle, just a few hundred meters from the small Eckwarden harbor and the Wadden Sea, an UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site in the North Sea.
Eckwarden is located at the southern tip of the green North Sea peninsula of Butjadingen.
Pirates once ran amok here, counts championed the construction of dikes, and even Napoleon left his mark here.
Today, life is more tranquil. The village has a local inn and a “Nah &
Frische” market for daily shopping needs.
Eckwarderhörne is only about 2.5 km away and offers a grassy beach; it’s an insider’s tip among
kite surfers.
And in the evening, when the weather is nice, you can enjoy one of the most beautiful sunsets in the region.

The small Eckwarder harbor, with its pretty sailboats and tiny beach, is easily accessible on foot (about 1.5 km). If you’d like to continue from there to the famous Preusseneck in Eckwarderhörne (about 2 km), you can easily bike along the Jadebusen.
In general, our North Sea peninsula of Butjadingen is considered a paradise for cyclists looking to embark on extensive tours.
Modern e-bikes (Flyer GoTour 3) can be rented directly at the house for a fee.
