We were looking for a bed to overnight and in that respect, for the price, it was excellent. The additional bonus was the self catering with a stove, microwave, kettle and enough cutlery and crockery for two people.
Nothing to do with the Guest House, more to do with a town. Hanover is a typical South African rural countryside town with very poor service delivery.

Excellent value for money - since we frequently travel between Gauteng and the Cape, we choose our accommodation on price together with the reviews and ratings. For the money we pay, we don't have high expectations. Vergenoeg't was perfectly clean, convenient and comfortable. The host, Stephan is very helpful - he switched on our electric blankets and the heater in advance. The decor is very quirky - Stephan is a collector and there are many many things on display!
I found the mosquito net over the bed unnecessary in winter and in the way. Be aware that Stephan is in the process of upgrading the facility and it currently needs a fresh coat of paint. Overall - excellent value for money.
