I booked this hotel for its location close to a shrine/park, and I absolutely loved my room when I arrived. The room was designed and decorated with care and it has beautiful Japanese cultural elements. It is spacious and well kept, with ample room everywhere. It even comes with its own small garden. It is totally beyond my expectations.
A bit far from the Kyoto station, although the quiet location right by the leafy park no doubt makes up for it. I also found that people living on the lovely, quiet streets around the hotel were mostly locals, which was an experience I wouldn’t have got if I stayed near a train station. It has been a lot of fun and cuteness watching local elementary school kids going to school in the morning.

Very clean
The bed was hard, and it was difficult to get comfortable. The hotel was a bit far from the Kyoto station.

the room is spacious
The pillows are too soft and may provide humidifier in the room especially during autumn and winter time. I once asked the front desk staff for restaurant recommendations, he told me to go to Kyoto station for recommendations. Maybe staff can have some local restaurant options which are less touristic. Also the hotel only offers used slippers which should also consider to provide sanitisers.
