Tides Cottage is a beautifully situated waterfront retreat on a quiet tidal inlet in Bass Harbor near Acadia National Park. Designed for comfort and relaxation, this inviting coastal cottage offers peaceful water views, modern amenities, and the perfect location for exploring the quieter side of Mount Desert Island.
The home features 3 bedrooms, each with it's own private bath, comfortably accommodating up to 6 people. The king bedroom includes a newly renovated tile walk-in shower, the twin bedroom also offers new tile walk-in shower and the queen bedroom features a shower stall.
The open kitchen, dining, and living area is filled with natural light from vaulted ceilings and large windows facing east over the water. Relax by the cozy wood-burning fireplace after a day exploring Acadia or enjoy the comfort of both heating and air conditioning throughout the home.
Outdoor living is just as special at Tides. The deck offers comfortable seating for morning coffee, waterfront dining, or taking in beautiful sunrises. Just off the front porch, guests can gather around the wood burning fire pit and enjoy meals off the grill at the picnic table.
Guests also have access to a shared dock with the neighboring cottage, complete with kayaks and a rowboat. Conveniently located within walking distance of Archies lobster and close to many Acadia National Park hiking trails, Tides is also just three miles from the center of Southwest Harbor where you will find shops and restaurants.

This property perfectly met our needs as a family of 5. I was very impressed with how clean it was! We’ve rented many houses in various locations and this was probably the cleanest yet!! The kitchen was well equipped which we appreciated since we like to save some money on meals. If you are looking to do a lot at Acadia you should plan accordingly- took us about 25 minutes each way to get there and to bar harbor. I didn’t really think it was a big deal and since it was our first time as a family I didn’t know. It does add up. If you’re planning on being out all day and are prepared to do so it’s not a big deal. I do appreciate the quiet of this side of the island! We were pretty active with our three kids though.

An older cabin feel to the house. But it had everything we needed. I would recommend travel insurance in Case you need to cancel.

This location was an amazing jump off spot to get into Acadia National park. It was close enough to Bar Harbor to get in and visit, but not so much so that you had to contend with the traffic that Bar Harbor has in June-August. The beds were very comfortable and the place was quite cozy. We paddled out on the water twice and it was lovely. Archie’s Lobster can be seen from the deck of the house…great place for anything lobster. Southwest Harbor isn’t far away and they have a some wonderful cafes and restaurants. 10/10
