The Herils farm (ferme-herils) is a property of more than 2 hectares whose first buildings go up with William the Conqueror era.
The farm is probably an old transformed castle which would have given its name to a commune attached to Maisons in 1830. Of this old castle, there remain some elements like the monumental porch, of the loopholes in the tower of the habitation, "pigeon" in one of the dependences, a bakery.
This lodging is located in an old barn and kept any sound charms with its beams and its walls out of apparent stones.
It includes at ground floor :
- a kitchen
- a dining room
– lounge with fireplace
- a WC
At first floor :
- 2 bedrooms (1 bed 140, 2 beds 90). Every bedroom arranges a wall cupboard closet.
- Bathroom with shower and WC
Outside :
- Large garden of 1000m2 approximately (not closed) with garden furniture and barbecue.
Ideally placed between Bayeux (4 km) and Port en Bessin (4 km), you will be able at the same time to appreciate the architecture of Bessin and to benefit from the animated beaches of the area (fishing, Sand yacht, ...).
Also located at the accesses of many ways of country and peaceful roads favorable to the pedestrian excursions and cyclists.

This property is far enough away from Bayeux and Port en Bessin that you can see pheasant and rabbits about. Yet close enough that you can easily drive to either in 5 minutes. We loved the quiet mornings and waking up to bird song. Host provided detailed instructions prior to arrival. A beautiful property.

La Grange was a lovely place to stay. The house is set in peaceful countryside, but within a short drive of Bayeux. The Normandy landing beaches and Caen are also close by. Anne-Francoise was very welcoming and we had everything we needed for a comfortable visit.

Very nice comfortable and quiet country Gite perfectly located for visiting the D-Day beaches and museums, as well as Bayeux. We had an excellent stay!
