Welcome to Casa Corazon Del Mar (house of the sea heart). Just three minutes from the beach. It is a unique, adobe-style dome home situated in a lush colourful garden in the jungle. It is near the black sand beach locally known as Playa Negra. Our home features a fully furnished kitchen and bedroom. Casa corazon del mar also boasts a unique river stone, spa style washroom with a rain shower head, hand shower and slate shower bench. Queen size bed. Outdoor space includes plunge pool and nature observation platform with comfortable adirondack chairs and hammock.

This is THE MOST AMAZING place you could stay in period. Nothing tops this in all of Costa Rica. John and Eric are beyond amazing and if you want a real Costa Rican experience this is it.

Everything advertised about Casa Corazon del Mar was 100% accurate—in fact it was better than advertised. John was a wonderful host…greeted us upon arrival, made sure we had dinner reservations in town for our first night in Puerto Viejo, and even had a bottle of champaign waiting for us knowing that the trip was an anniversary celebration for us.
The house was beautiful, and the gardens were truly magical. You truly are close to nature in this house! We almost did not want to leave to visit the beaches because we so enjoyed sitting in the observation deck listening to the sounds of the jungle. We genuinely enjoyed watching the various species of birds, frogs, geckos and the eight bats that live way up in the observation deck! We were even fortunate enough to experience a close-up visit from the howler monkeys and the sloths that live in the area.
The visit to Casa Corazon del Mar and the area around Puerto Viejo was wonderful—should be on everyone’s bucket list.

We decided to check out Puerto Viejo due to the recommendation of a local upon arriving in Costa Rica. We stayed here for 3 nights during our honeymoon, and we wish we could’ve had at least a week more here! The community stole our hearts.
This property is lush and private and the home is so creative and unique. We loved the open air experience!
The hosts are exceptionally warm and helpful. Upon our arrival, John immediately called their favorite restaurant and made a reservation for us. They arranged our bike rentals to be brought to the property, and even picked up one of the guys from the bike shop and quickly met us to replace a wheel that went flat. They
made our stay so seamless and enjoyable.
Our experience in Puerto Viejo was a highlight of our month in Costa Rica. Seriously, you won’t regret booking this lil dome home!
