In the heart of the coolest neighborhood in the world (source Lonely Planet 2017) Oltrarno. In a splendid 17th century building, first floor with lift, just finished renovating with luxury materials. It consists of entrance with living room with sofa and smart TV, fully equipped kitchen (stove, oven, sink, kettle, toaster and all the accessories for a meal), dining table. The first bedroom is a suite with double bed, dressing room and private bathroom with sink, toilet, bidet and shower, a second bedroom with double bed, another complete bathroom. Washer and dryer, AC, heating and latest generation wifi make this apartment particularly pleasant. Although the life of the neighborhood is noisy at times, this apartment has windows in a small street and in an internal courtyard avoiding annoying noises. In the neighborhood you can find any service, the neighborhood market in Piazza Santo Spirito is very characteristic. All the main monuments are just a few minutes away on foot.

This apt is a good location. We enjoyed the immediate neighborhood the more we were there and didn’t mind the walks across the Arno to the Duomo, David and other museums. The best gelato in Florence was just two blocks away and there are many good restaurants. We didn’t have WiFi in the back bedroom and the bedding wasn’t as nice as what is pictured on the website for either bedroom. Communication with the host was excellent and lift for luggage was greatly appreciated.

I stayed 10 days and thought the apartment was in a great residential neighborhood. If you want less tourists it’s the place. David & Britta gave great information to check-in. Check-out was confusing, especially being told I need to pay a cash city tax, 70 Euro, to the host. After contacting VRBO, they said I should not have paid that tax and there is nothing they can do to get my money back. Beware!! Don’t pay anything outside of your VRBO booking.
