Surroundings

Along the coast of the Kattegat, you’ll find long, child-friendly beaches perfect for swimming, building sandcastles, and sunbathing. Even small children can swim and play safely here under supervision. The beaches are a paradise for water sports enthusiasts. You can enjoy kayaking, windsurfing, and heading out to sea on your SUP board. Charming harbor towns line the coast one after another. Stroll through small shops selling arts and crafts, enjoy fresh fish in cozy harbor restaurants, and explore historic sights, including castles, museums, and old lighthouses.

In Lyngså, the beach is nice and wide and easily accessible for people with mobility impairments and wheelchair users. When a good southeasterly wind has blown, you can often get lucky and find a piece of amber. There are also often exciting beach finds such as scallops, pelican’s feet, common spindle snails, crabs, and mussel shells.

The beach stretches from Nørreklit, where there is ample parking, to Søndreklit. The stretch is very varied, with shallow areas of sandy bottom, reef openings, and “bathtubs” with deeper water. Waders can be useful, but it’s recommended that you stay on the beach during high tide.

Beach fishing is particularly good from March through June and again from September through December. Restrooms are available in the area, as well as a wheelchair-accessible ramp that leads partially down to the beach. Always remember to bring the fishing license you purchased at www.fisketegn.dk.

What you can catch at Lyngså Beach:
Whiting and sea trout. You can also catch garfish, sea bass, flounder, sole, and turbot.
