You can easily explore Vulcan National Park, visit the stunning beaches of Hilo, go shopping at the mall stroll through the historic city center, or visit local boutiques and markets in just 30 minutes. Essential goods are just a short drive away: a grocery store, pharmacy, hardware store, and gas stations are all within a 5-minute drive.

The coqui are LOUD! The bed was fairly hard. The shower was tiny with only luke warm water. Alex was a great host, communicated well and even walked to the end of the road and helped us find his place in the dark. If you’re only planning to sleep here it’s ok (be mindful of the first 2 sentences). Otherwise “lounging comfortably” is not an option - bed and 2 dining chairs. Location was good. Not too far away from Volcanoes NP, and near enough to Hilo.
