This quaint and charming home is centrally located ,in the heart of downtown Eugene, Oregon. It is only a brisk walk from the eclectic Whitaker / Blair Boulevard neighborhood with its many ethnic restaurants and grocers, gourmet dining establishments and great music venues. One of Eugene's best bakeries is only a few steps away! Deliscious! The Pizza Research Institute and Papa's Soul Food Kitchen are extraordinary and Sam Bond's Garage is a popular music venue for local, and not so local, artists. Just down the way a bit is the Hult Center where touring companies bring theatre and music to Eugene and where the notable Eugene Symphony, the Mozart Players and the Bach Festival perform to the delight of local and international audiences. Comfy older house with lots of seating and areas to occupy. The beds were a bit soft but cozy. Cute garden and private back yard. There is only on street parking, which is fine but on the morning we left we found one of our vehicles had been side swiped and the driver mirror knocked off. We were very fortunate to get a part and service hours at the local dealership before having to drive many miles on the interstate home.

This was a cute, roomy little home with character and everything we needed. The host was very responsive and there was a yummy bakery just down tbe alley. Although it was close to downtown, the one negative was the neighborhood (lots of homeless people around outside day and night).

Great House. Great Host. You can tell much thought and effort has been put into making this property special. Loaded with everything you will need to have a comfortable stay. Lots of great restaurants close as a 3min walk. And there lies the problem.This area is full of the homeless. People living in tents and vehicles right next to property. Garbage everywhere. The walks for food were scary. We were harrased everytime we left the house. Theres a constant threat to personal and property safety by the nonstop parade of vagrants around the house/cars all day and night. At checkin we were informed not to leave ANYTHING in our cars. For good reason, i found out. My heart goes out to the owner. It is a very difficult situation. If this house was located elsewhere i would rent it again. However when i do return to stay in Eugene it will be in a nice hotel. In a different part of town.Take what you want from my review. The tax paying residents of Eugene should be ashamed and embarrased by what that town has become.
