"Down The Shore" is a gorgeous, recently updated four-bedroom, three bath home with modern appliances and a well-appointed kitchen. Best of all, the private pool is the perfect place to cool off in style and even offers optional heating or cooling. It features an inverted floor plan with the main living areas and kitchen on the top floor where the panoramic ocean views are amazing. Relax on the covered porches after a day of fun at the beach, the upper and lower front porches offer unobstructed ocean views. There is also a screened in back porch on the top floor perfect for early morning coffee or late-night games.
It is close to the Ocean Crest fishing pier in the convenient East Beach area of Oak Island, with direct beach access. East Beach is super family-friendly with the conveniences of restaurants, grocery stores and shopping just a few miles away.
Guests should note that an additional fee is required for each day a guest requests pool heating or cooling. Guest must request the pool heating or cooling and pay the fee by calling the OIA office during normal business hours at least 24 hours prior to arrival. Pool heating is only available when temperatures are 55 degrees Fahrenheit and warmer.
For those guests who have allergies, please note that while pets are not allowed for guest reservations, a hypo-allergenic dog may be present during owner stays.

The house was great for my wife and I, as well as our adult son, daughter, and daughter-in-law. The house was extremely clean. The kitchen was well stocked, with drip and k-cup coffee machines, and everything else we needed for the week. The beds were very comfortable. The house has two levels of covered porches with great furniture that we enjoyed throughout the week. The top level has good views of the ocean. Beach access is just across the street and super convenient. The pool was larger than expected and clean. We used it almost every day. Overall we had a very great trip and would stay I. The house again.

The house was great. Our only real problem was the fact that the listing said the pool could be heated at an additional cost. It was a little on the cooler side the week we stayed there and the pool was very cold. We had small children with us so we called to request the heater for the pool be turned on and were told no 3 times. They said the owner had decided to not allow the pool to heated any more. In my opinion, the listing should not have shown a heated pool as an option if that wasn't the case. One of the reasons we chose that house was the ability to heat the pool. Otherwise our stay was great.
