Tanfastic has been thoughtfully updated throughout while still maintaining its classic beach house charm. Best of all, Tanfastic is dog-friendly so you can bring your furry companion along. You'll both love the fenced-in dog run where they can come and go from the back deck, no leash required! After a day at the beach or exploring town, come home and unwind in the hot tub. Multiple decks and a screened porch provide plenty of opportunities for enjoying the great outdoors. Soak up the sun on the rooftop sun deck with views of both the ocean and the Wright Brothers Memorial. A bonus room on the ground level can serve as a second living area or hang-out space for kids.
Located at milepost 8.5 in Kill Devil Hills, guests who stay at Tanfastic will be within close proximity to shopping, dining, groceries and family-friendly attractions. Popular nearby restaurants include Outer Banks Brewing Station, Captain George's Seafood Restaurant and Jack Brown's Beer & Burger Joint. Most importantly, getting to the beach is quick and easy using the Baum Street public access, just a five-minute walk from the house.

Great property for a quick visit to OBX

We booked our stay less than 30 days before going due to a cancellation of another stay in Michigan (yes, 180 change). We were very lucky to find a place, especially with such a great location. The location is spectacular for the price. It is literally 2 blocks down & 2 blocks over from the public beach entrance on flat neighborhood roads with light traffic. My kids rode bikes comfortably. Location to the main road, stores, Wright museum, etc. was very convenient. We were traveling w/ 3 kids (12, 10 & 7) & a husky who needs crated when not supervised/sleep. They are not kidding when they say dog friendly! A crate and dog dishes were included along with lawn and board games. The fenced in area was a deciding factor for us. Just a note - the fenced in area is not connected to exits so we did have to leash the dog to get in the backyard (husky). There was a gate at the top of the stairs so the dog could be on the porches (also good for smaller children). The kitchen came with a good amount of cookware and glassware. We did go through the plates pretty quickly but there was a dishwasher we ran nightly. Air conditioner was great upstairs with a window unit for the downstairs. The washer/dryer were large capacity and did a good job. They provided a nice starter pack of cleaning items which was helpful but went quickly. I packed dishwasher tablets, Tide pods, paper towels and toilet paper. I bought hand soaps for the bathrooms. Hot tub was used nightly!
