Other important activities in the district are journalism and fashion. The 2nd is also home to the famous Rue Sainte-Anne, known to Parisians as the haunt of Japanese restaurants and stores. Typically Parisian shopping arcades, such as the Passage Choiseul and the Passage des Panoramas, add to the district's charm. While the above are all daytime activities, the eastern end of the arrondissement, with its charming Rue Montorgueil, has an entirely different, more dynamic and youthful reputation thanks to its many cafés, restaurants and bars.
