Perfect for couples and families, this authentic riverfront cabin is nestled on the beautiful St. John River in Allagash, Maine, offering a true North Maine Woods escape.
Located directly on the riverbank, the cabin features direct access to the ITS trail system, making it an ideal base for year-round adventure.
Relax and unwind in our authentic cedar hot tub (seasonal: April–October), perfectly positioned along the river’s edge. Enjoy peaceful, starlit soaks as the river flows beside you.
The open-air outdoor kitchen lets you embrace nature while cooking and dining outdoors—perfect for grilling and gathering with family and friends.
Whether you’re here to hike, climb, fish (brook, ice, or muskie), hunt, canoe, kayak, snowmobile, ATV, or simply disconnect and relax, The Caron Camp is your ideal wilderness retreat.
The camp is conveniently located between two North Maine Woods checkpoints (Little Black and Dickey), each just about one mile away. The Deboullie Mountain area is also a short drive away, offering excellent hiking and scenic views.
For water adventures, canoes and kayaks are available for local rental nearby, making it easy to explore the St. John River and surrounding waterways.
At The Caron Camp, cleanliness and comfort are a top priority. Bedding is freshly laundered, and all linens, blankets, and comforters are thoroughly sanitized after every stay. We take great pride in preparing a clean and welcoming space for every guest.

This is a really special property. Becky is a great host - communicative, welcoming, and always seem to be available. Her and her family have created a great environment for her guests' comfort. You have a spectacular view right on the St Johns River. The house is spacious and has everything you need. We cook a lot ourselves and the kitchen was great. There's plenty of room for entertaining especially with the separate Pavilion and the cedar hot tub. There are a couple of fire pits and a couple of great barbecue grills. It's a super value and as a bonus it was a great place to have our dog with plenty of room outside. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Everything we needed was there. Great camp and location for snowmobiling. If it was regular season we could have go right to the trail.

I have been staying in the Allagash for 25 plus years now. This is the best place I have found. Very clean , easy directions, and great location,and hospitality.can’t wait to go back

This was our second time staying at the amazing Caron Camp! It is the perfect getaway for those who need a peaceful and relaxing north woods getaway. You have access to the incredible Maine north woods where you can fish, kayak, canoe, hike or look for wildlife. Becky the host is so lovely, kind, and responsive! The camp is always super clean, spacious, and offers a variety of seating areas no matter what the weather. We look forward to staying again!
