Welcome to Gardiner Getaway! We’re delighted to have you as our guest!
Gardiner Getaway is a charming, rustic vacation rental nestled in the scenic historic town of Jardine, Montana. Located 5 miles from Gardiner up a gravel road. This property took new ownership in the spring of 2023. The owners and managers are excited to share this property with guests and their families and friends.
The home provides lodging accommodations by offering two separate units (Unit 1- Bear's Lair #3541596 and Unit 2- Cub's Cache #3579993) that are attached under one roof, having a shared front porch, yard, and parking area. Each unit is a fully equipped space for guests to have all of their daily needs met. The units are available to be booked separately.
This unit (Unit 1: Bear’s Lair) was originally the site of a dance hall, with the saloon overlooking it. Now, this home, which was once a hunting lodge, boasts high wood ceilings and a wide open floor plan consistent with accommodating and feeding a group of hungry clients.
This Unit 1- Bear's Lair offers various amenities to enhance your stay:
- Fully equipped kitchens with modern appliances, cookware, and utensils.
- Spacious living rooms and dining rooms with comfortable seating.
- Inviting bedrooms with comfortable beds and fresh linens.
- Bathrooms with towels, toiletries, and a hairdryer.
- A shared outdoor fire pit and grill to gather around and enjoy evenings under the stars.

This place was great. It’s definitely off the beaten path, which is what we were looking for. You have to travel a couple miles up a gravel mountain road to get there. The property itself is well-maintained and has a super interesting history. The host was a good communicator. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!

My family and I had a great time. The cabin was just what we were looking for. It was the perfect spot to access Gardiner and Yellowstone National Park.

We expected the rental to be rustic based on the location and description, but we’re disappointed that the main heating unit did not work for the first two days. We were in coats and warm hats to eat dinner and it was not relaxing at all. What is worse is that the issue was known and wasn’t communicated to us ahead of time or fixed before we arrived. A portion of rental payment was refunded. There were also two visitors to the property- a mountain lion (or two) outside and a mouse inside. The mountain lion didn’t bother us but we had to keep our heads on a swivel - also, it apparently killed a skunk that permeated the rental for a day or so.
