If you’re visiting in autumn make sure to head to the iconic tree-lined avenue around the corner, or if you’re visiting in summer head out for a riverside picnic just moments from your door.
A clever design by Cassells Green fills the interior with all the comforts and style of modern living, while the exterior remains as charming as the fellow Arrowtown cottages around it.
Enter into an open-plan living space with modern kitchen. The layout flows into dining and lounge areas, perfect for entertaining. Two bathrooms and convenient laundry with washer/dryer provide functionality. Three comfortable bedrooms include two queens with built-in robes, plus a third room with two king single beds. Large windows flood the space with natural light throughout timber and carpet flooring.
Staying in Alchemy Cottage also puts the wider Southern Lakes area right at your doorstep. From the front door you’re just a 20 minute drive from Queenstown, 25 minutes from Coronet Peak and 50 minutes from The Remarkables Ski Area.
Style, charm and location all make Alchemy Cottage the ultimate Arrowtown getaway for a couple or family!

Overall, a lovely place to stay. Would love to come back.
In the spirit of just sharing thoughts ( ie we’re not complaining!):
1. I think the front gate needs a bit of attention … bit tricky to open & close (fine for us, but might be tricky for elderly)
2. One of the bedside lamps in the twin room was rather wobbly.
3. We thought not having blinds in the bathrooms was a bit odd. Fine for the 3 of us, but I doubt my wife and daughter would have been comfortable. Just a thought!

Perfectly situated, walk across tree lined street to one of the best cafes and brekkie spots or 3 houses away from a cool little farmers shop for provisions. The best restaurants are a short stroll away so no designated driver needed. Super clean, very comfortable beds and bedding. We will definitely be back!
