Great location and communication from the host Diane. Lots of rules and info, but well presented. The place has that old Florida feel that I love The last thing I want is a sterile, ultra modern hotel. The second to last thing I want is a hot room after a day of travel. It was 80 in the room and 88 outside. There were firm instructions about turning the AC down to 78 when not in the unit. 78?? It took hours to cool down but we did raise the temp when away. The room was far from clean unfortunately. The stovetop was dirty as was the glassware and flatware and the room in general was grungy in the corners. I looked like the windows hadn’t been washed in decades. Lastly (and I hate to go on) memory foam mattresses wear out and when they do and two people try to sleep in them it’s like being pressed together in a hammock. Other units might be wonderful, but I’m not sure if I’d return based on this experience. There are enough competitive options in the immediate area to make a repeat here a bad risk.

Checked in around 8pm. There was water all over the floor in front of refrigerator. The refrigerator was leaking. Went to the information booklet where in a highlighted sentence it gave a number to call the host if anything is wrong. I explained to the host the problem and she said "Oh yes that happens with that refrigerator and the owner is not going to fix it so just throw some towels on the floor during your stay to soak up the water" I couldn't believe it. I asked why wouldn't you disclose this. She then got very rude and said she did not appreciate me calling her so late and that they were not fixing the problem so I would just have to deal with it. WOW ... I hope the owner knows what kind of host is representing him. Also the normal coffee pot was broken and rusty and leaked all over the counter. You can get one at Walmart for 15 bucks. I would never stay at a place with this host but would stay in this community again.
