We were looking for a place close to all the activities in and around Sarasota but yet with privacy and this place completely satisfied this request. The home is tastefully done and the backyard is completely private with a wonderful pool area. We would definitely come back!

My family and I had a great stay. The house was very clean, comfortable and wonderfully decorated. It had everything we needed and was close to everything we wanted to do. There were plenty of towels for both the bath and beach. Plenty of beach gear like chairs, coolers, boogey boards, sand toys and umbrellas. My kids had everything they weren't able to bring from home. We enjoyed just spending time at the house and hanging out around the pool. It felt like staying in a home someone cares about and not another soulless rental. We would love to stay again the next time we visit.

My friends and I had a wonderful time at the Palm House. This house is incredibly clean, comfortable and centrally located. The owner is extremely communicative. I would highly recommend this gem!

Before I get into reviewing the house, I want to mention that we found a Drop Cam. VRBO policy specifically says that any cameras inside properties are prohibited. Mike disagreed with this statement and said it was not recording and that it was for security when no one was using the house. I searched the listing for mention of a camera but there was nothing. VRBO also verified that I was correct. Because of this, we left the house within 24 hours.
Besides this issue, the overall house and furnishings were beautiful. The property is well kept and the pool is stunning. There is a shed filled with floats. The layout of the house is a bit strange and it is definitely smaller than it appears in the photos. There is one adjoining bedroom attached to the master so you have to walk through the master to access it, which can affect privacy. The temperature was much hotter in that bedroom, and even with the two fans that were provided, there was a major temperature difference. We requested permission to adjust the temperature because the Nest was locked at 70 and Mike was responsive in allowing it.
The master bedroom door lock is reversed, so my child managed to lock me in the bedroom. Fortunately, there’s a door leading out to the patio so I wasn’t trapped. The listing states that the kitchen was recently renovated, and the appliances are definitely new, but there is no garbage disposal in the kitchen. It's also good to note that all the interior doors are shuttered so you can hear everything. This is more of a factor because we have little kids and a baby who naps. Also, two cigarette butts were left on the bench under the car port.
